Laboratory Facilities

The Laboratory is composed of three separate components.  The Command Center Laboratory where user interface and command station capabilities are envisioned, developed, tested, and refined is one of these components.  Another is a Presentation Center and Emergency Operations Center Laboratory where solutions for the smoother operation of a command center may be conceived and refined.

Both of these components depend on the infrastructure assets of ICS’s software laboratory, ICS’s integration and test facility, and the committed resources of the of the partner in the Center and Laboratory for Integrated Systems Excellence.  These elements constitute the necessary environment for the extensive integrated systems testing that is the product of the Laboratory.  They include cameras of many types, access control components, intrusion detection components, UPS systems, communications interfaces, network switches and routers, video analytics software, and the many other components needed to create a very complete and special laboratory.

Additionally for those for a technical nature,  a variety of diagrams of the site have been developed that provide detailed information about the actual component configuration.  Some of the diagrams show how different software modules are integrated to provide the Center and Laboratory for Integrated Systems Excellence capabilities.
