Command Center Laboratory

The command center laboratory is configured with two fully equipped ESMS Enterprise Command Stations that are a part of the infrastructure assets of the laboratory.  They are fully operational had have complete control over the facility.  It is in this room that most of the testing of system use cases occurs.  As different use case scenarios unfold, operator actions may be practiced and evaluated.  Testers and developers ask questions like:

  • Is the envisioned solution practical?  Does it offer the command and control capabilities needed to meet the operating requirements?
  • Do the technology components meet the requirements of the solution?
  • Does the C3 software deliver the functionality needed and is it easy to use?  What is missing, what is wrong, and what can we do better are critical questions in this lab.
  • Is the solution robust and self-healing when problems occur?
  • Does the solution continue to perform and to what extent does it continue to perform during periods of component failure?

All of these and many more questions are evaluated in the Command Center.
We also address questions about how the Enterprise Command Station might be configured.  How are the monitors arranged? The console positions may be configured to support up to 8 monitors with different spacing and different positions so that special purpose arrangements adapted to specific customer requirements may be evaluated.  Anything from a video wall to a single monitor workstation may be evaluated.  Both wireless, WiFi, and wired connections of many types may be simulated within the infrastructure of the Laboratory.
