1Each system requires an Alarm Management Module (AMM) and a Database Support Module (DSM). These modules are
normally bundled into a package called the Host.
2Control stations include the Data Control Station (DCS), Visitor Registration Station (VRS), and Integrated Badging
Station (IBS). Integrated Badging Stations may require a video capture card.
3Command stations include the Operator Command Station (OCS), Status Monitoring Station (SMS), Activity Monitoring
Station (AMS), and Image Verification Station (IVS).
4The Subsystem Interfaces category includes all types of AccessSIMs and the MonitorSIM.
5The IBS (Integrated Badging Station) is not supported by this operating system. However, other control type user
stations are fully supported in AIX and SCO.
6EnterpriseSMS does not require Windows NT Server although it is supported.
7Workstations used as an Integrated Badging Stations may require additional hardware.
8Port requirements vary with the modules and attachments. See following tables for more information on configuring these
system capabilities.
Also:
- A "NO" entry in a given row indicates that the software will either 1) not operate, or 2) will not be well-performing on that operating system.
- The final line in the table indicates the proper usage within the EnterpriseSMS system of a computer configured to run the software in that column.
- Servers are better equipped than workstations and can support any configuration of software modules.
- Although not an absolute requirement, ICS expects that workstations will not be used to provide an operating environment for the host.
Example: A basic System 5 or a System 10 may be installed on a computer with either Windows NT Workstation, Windows NT Server,
AIX 4.2.1, or SCO UnixWare 7 operating systems. Windows 95 and Windows 98 are not supported as environments for host processes.
Example: An Integrated Badging Station (IBS) may be installed on a computer with either Windows NT Workstation, Windows NT Server,
Windows 95, or Windows 98 operating systems. AIX 4.2.1 and SCO UnixWare 7 are not supported as environments for the IBS.
Example: An Data Control Station (DCS) may be installed in any approved operating environment.
