AN ENTRY-LEVEL SOLUTION

The EnterpriseSMS System 1 is a single-user, single-CPU system designed to meet the needs of small system users. Running on Windows NT, and utilizing the industry-standard Oracle relational  database, System 1 supports an unlimited number of readers and controllers, and is fully upgradeable to the largest EnterpriseSMS systems without functional changes to the software or database. Its  feature set far exceeds that of comparably priced systems.

ESMS System supports the Open System Controller. The Open System Controller utilizes FLASH RAM memory, which eliminates costly field service calls to change or update firmware. The Open  System Controller is fully software-configurable.

ESMS System 1 is field installable by either users or their dealers using an installation manager typical in the Windows environment. Simplified database templates make system configuration and system  administration simple, even for the novice user. Remote diagnostics and complete support utilities are fully included with your EnterpriseSMS System 1/Open System Controller system.

Standard Features

EXTENSIVE ALARM AND EVENT PROCESSING CAPABILITIES

EnterpriseSMS provides extensive alarm and event management capabilities. Operators acknowledge, process, and release alarms using a simple, point-and-click interface. Users may open and close  doors, control inputs and outputs, and execute Host Macros, either freely or subject to supervisory approval. Users may query the badge database by badgeholder name or badge number. Such queries display

identification information about the badgeholder, and his/her stored image if present. After all management actions, operators either may, either optionally or by default, enter comments regarding the action.  Such comments log along with the action message.

USER INSTALLABILITY

Like any off-the-shelf software product, EnterpriseSMS is user-installable from CD-ROM. Dealers and users are able to reinstall their systems should unforeseen problems, such as those relating to computer hardware, occur.

EVENT AND ARCHIVE SYSTEM LOGS

EnterpriseSMS maintains two separate log databases for the storage of alarm and event information. All system messages post to the event log in real time. After a user-defined number of days, aged  messages transfer to the archive log. This scheme permits 24x7 operation of the system, as well as allowing extensive historical data to be stored and queried without impacting normal system operation.

PRE-LOADED CONFIGURATION TEMPLATES

Templates are pre-defined, operational characteristics common to portals or device types. When a template containing a set of operational characteristics is applied to a portal, that portal assumes  that set of predefined behaviors. In this way, large systems with many portals may be installed quickly and easily.

24 X 7 OPERATION

System processes constantly monitor all EnterpriseSMS operations to ensure that the system operates continuously 24 hours a day.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES

The ability to handle complex organizational structures makes EnterpriseSMS easily adaptable to both multi-tenant office facilities and large, departmentalized companies.

ORACLE RELATIONAL DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Designed for intensive environments, the Oracle database provides sophisticated features enabling high-availability and high performance operation.

ENHANCED ANTIPASSBACK

Timed and zoned antipassback schemes are supported. Timed prevents multiple ingresses by a card through a portal without an intervening egress. Zoned logs the location of a badge through a  facility, preventing accesses that are not logically possible. Readers in a given scheme need not be attached to the same controller.

EXTENDED ACCESS FOR THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED

When enabled for a given badgeholder, additional time is permitted to pass through portals without alarms being generated. The amount of extended time granted at a specific portal is user-defined.

DURESS ACCESS

When badgeholders use a special duress PIN, they access portals while generating alarms to Operator Command Stations, notifying other system operators that the badgeholder has been coerced to pass through the portal.

EXECUTIVE PRIVILEge

Executive Privilege permits designated badgeholders to gain access through portals in their access profile without regard to schedule, PIN, or antipassback validation.

KEYPAD ACCESS

When configured for a given portal, users with access through that portal may gain access by keying their Encoded ID [and PIN, for a PIN-enabled reader] without a badge swipe.

GRAPHICAL MAPS

Users can choose to have alarms post on a graphical map display as well as on the Operator Command Station Alarm Scoreboard. The displayed map can be zoomed, and the facility navigated using  control buttons displaying maps upstairs, downstairs, north, south, east, or west, of the displayed map.

STANDARD REPORTS

EnterpriseSMS includes extensive reporting capabilities, including general system log reports, administrative reports (such as badgeholder activity, badges authorized for specific areas, etc.) and technical system reports.

ON-LINE HELP

All system documentation is provided in electronic format.

SERVER INSTALLED UNIVERSAL USER STATION

A single Data Control Station and Operator Command Station running on the system server is supplied.

OPEN SYSTEM CONTROLLER Support

The Open System Controller is fully supported utilizing direct connect (RS485) communications. Each controller can accommodate up to 14 readers, utilizing industry standard reader technology.

Optional Features

MULTIPLE LANGUAGE SUPPORT

EnterpriseSMS System 1 is available in English, French and Spanish.

INTEGRATED BADGING STATION

Server installed System 1 offers an integrated badging station used for issuing badges and capturing photo images. Compatible with digital or RGB cameras, the video badging station operates with  Windows NT compatible printers commonly available for printing badges.

EXTERNAL BADGE INTERFACE

System 1 provides a software module for importing and exporting structured data used for populating the database with information from external databases, such as a Human Resource database.
