Version 5

EnterpriseSMS® Version 5 is a significant advancement to the ESMS product line.  It repositions EnterpriseSMS to respond to emerging technologies.  Unlike competitors, Version 5 maintains the 16 years of established practice of providing both monitoring and integrated control over monitored subsystems.  This is a significant advantage to EnterpriseSMS® users as it means that a single user interface provides complete, one-keyboard-one-mouse functionality.  For all subsystems, EnterpriseSMS® provides

  • Subsystem monitoring and state tracking
  • Extensive analysis of subsystems behavior including cross system analysis
  • Analytical reporting of system and subsystem behavior
  • Automatic control over subsystems and subsystems components behavior based on customer defined rules
  • Ad hoc operator command over all subsystem components
  • A single user interface adaptable by users to meet their specific requirements for command and control.

This means EnterpriseSMS provides an integrated, cross subsystem solution and is the correct choice of integrated system software for any application.
The page Version Objectives defines the general goals to be achieved in Version 5.  The release plan provides guidance about the anticipated delivery of capabilities.  This page will be dynamic as the plan is revised.  Generally, the closure of Version 5 is keyed to final release of a number of relevant ANSI and other relevant public standards as compliance with standards is a major objective of Version 5.

Core Products
The Enterprise Command Station is the visible component of the EnterpriseSMS suite of software.  It is an example of an edge component as defined by the model for integrated systems detailed on its own page.  Generally, according to the model, software components may be organized into three categories:

  • Edge Components – This category includes the Enterprise Command Station, the Remote Diagnostic Client, Video the Viewing Station, the Simple Access Control Station, and a variety of provisioning stations including system data, badge preparation including FIPS 201 compliant identity management and badge provisioning and production  stations.
  • Middleware Components -  This category includes interfaces to subsystems.  Examples include video content analysis subsystem services, access control subsystem services, IDS and general monitoring subsystem services, SCADA system monitoring and control, video applications servers interfaces, access control server interfaces, and edge component interfaces required for infrastructure management and support for special technologies.  Middleware components may include special interfaces to other, deployment specific, applications.
  • Core Services Components -  This category includes EnterpriseSMS provisioning database services, its monitoring services, and the control services that provide automatic response to system events.

Customization and Professional Services
We have noted that EnterpriseSMS is largely a tool box that may be configured to achieve many different goals.  Version 5 extends this concept substantially enabling greater adaptation to user requirements at less costs.  (Version 6 will further expand these capabilities.)  ICS also provides through professional services arrangements the customization of EnterpriseSMS to meet your specific requirements, the creation of new interfaces to and integration of products to meet your needs, and technical consulting on the design and implementation of projects and systems.
