Version 5 is thought to be accomplished in four releases spread over two years. These releases are discussed below and the discussions indicate the principle features of the release. One should not fully rely on this section because we frequently move things around.
Release 5.0 (Released May, 2007)
This release represents a major rewrite of the Operator Command Station, all SIMs, and all other associated stations and subsystem interfaces. This rewrite has imposed changes on AMM and these have been incorporated. A transition version of the “Scoreboard” was created for this release as the Scoreboard remained an MKS’ NutCracker dependent product component. It is not interchangeable with other versions of the Scoreboard and is operationally quite different. This release focuses on the ECS and SIM environments, design, and capability set. Significant enhancements of the video capabilities of EnterpriseSMS and introduction of a geospatial graphics user interfaces was introduced in this release.
Release 5.1
This will deliver substantial enhancements of features first introduced in Release 5.0. A significant deliverable of R5.1 will be a new Scoreboard. Major improvements in QuickView, the Scoreboard, the geospatial Maps user interface, a shared commands user interface, a Remote Diagnostic Client, and support for HID Global’s VertX family of access control devices is all a part of Release 5.1
Release 5.1 will also complete the transition to Oracle Express on all stations or in the local of all stations, eliminating list replication. The ESMS paradigm is that database updates are applied to the main database and replicated to redundant copies and localized distributed instances for SIMs and Stations. All SIMs and other interfaces will also contain and Oracle Express instance.
Release 5.2
This release will deliver a further extension of the Maps Graphical User Interface. The most interesting enhancement will be the incorporation of Visio and Visio developed graphics in the user interface and the incorporation of 3rd party data sources in this application. Intercom communications will be incorporated. Release 5.2 will see the initial structured cabling management support.
Release 5.2 will introduce an edeployed Small Access Control System. This product will be available over the WEB and downloaded to a user’s computer where it will operate. This application will support VertX, Edge, Edge Plus, and Edge2 products.
Release 5.2 will also see the support for Allen-Bradley controllers, Modbus devices, Modbus RTU devices, and SNMP devices. It will also see the incorporation of mobile device tracking. This release will probably incorporate a number of new devices not yet identified.
Release 5.3
This release updates the AMM / CCM applications to comply with the environments of other Release 5.0, 5.1, and 5.2 components. It will fully implement the SIA metamodel for future systems development and the applicable standards.
