These icons permit the operator to perform the alarm
handling operations on the alarm currently selected in the SCOREBOARD. To select an alarm, simply CLICK on
it.
To ACKNOWLEDGE an
Alarm
To BYPASS an
Alarm

CLICK any acknowledged alarm generated by the device to be
bypassed
-
CLICK the
BYPASS icon
-
Enter
Comments into the Alarm Comment Form explaining why the BYPASS action
is being taken

CLICK
OK. The selected alarm's Device State changes to
By (Bypass). All occurrences of the alarm, except for the
original identical alarm, disappear. No further messages from this
device will appear until the device is
UNBYPASSED.
To UNBYPASS an ALARM

Using the mouse, select a bypassed alarm on the
SCOREBOARD

CLICK the BYPASS icon. The UNBYPASS dialog will appear.

Enter Comments explaining the reason the
UNBYPASS action is being taken. CLICK OK
.

The selected alarm's Device State changes
to either the current state of the device or to Un (unknown). Any
events now received from
this device will again be displayed on the SCOREBOARD.
To RELEASE an Alarm
To RELEASE multiple Alarms

CLICK on the leftmost column (to the left of the
Description column) of an alarm to be released

Hold down the SHIFT key to select a range of alarms
-OR- hold down the CTRL key to click on each event to be released

Still holding down the SHIFT or CTRL key,
right-mouse-click and select RELEASE
To GRAB one or all Alarms from an operator

Select an alarm to be GRABBED. If taking
responsibility for all alarms from an operator, select one of the alarms to be
GRABBED.

GRAB
-or-

GRAB
ALL
-
Enter the Comment explaining the action and
click OK.

The GRAB window disappears. The
Operator field of the selected alarm or the Operator field
of all alarms grabbed changes to your username. You my then act to
resolve the grabbed alarm(s).
