How to Resolve and Release an Alarm

When an alarm is received, an officer must first take responsibility for the alarm.  This is done by clicking on the alarm then clicking the ACKNOWLEDGE icon.  When this is done, the login ID of the operator currently logged onto the scoreboard will be recorded in the log and displayed next to the alarm on this and all other ECS stations in the system.  After the selected event is no longer in an alarm status or other unreleasable status, then the officer who acknowledged the alarm, and only that officer, may release the alarm by selecting the event and pressing the RELEASE icon.
