Client Database

The ECS Station utilizes an Oracle Xpress database instance synchronized with the central server.  This database is always synchronized automatically as administrators update the system configuration.  Extensive independence of operation depends on good data that is kept current without human intervention.   This also permits operations such as video to continue operations even if the central server is unavailable.

The process to synchronize this database with the central server is often referred to as 'DataSync'.  The scripts to run this are usually set up as a Windows 'Scheduled Task'.  It is usually set up to run every 10 minutes.  Additionally, an option exists on the Advanced Tab where it may be started independently at other intervals if required.
